Why So Many First Responders Are Choosing Pennsylvania

Find the Community That Fits Your Future

Pennsylvania's size and variety mean you can choose the type of community that works best for you. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offer extensive healthcare, entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and transportation, while places such as Harrisburg, Lancaster, Erie, and smaller communities provide different combinations of convenience, space, and pace.

If you're planning to settle for good, the right community matters just as much as the right house. Think about healthcare, proximity to family, housing, recr
A Four-Season Lifestyle With Plenty to Do

Pennsylvania's four seasons give retirees a changing backdrop throughout the year. Spring and summer are ideal for fishing, boating, hiking, gardening, golfing, and enjoying the state's many parks and outdoor spaces.

Fall brings beautiful foliage across the mountains and countryside, while winter offers skiing, snow activities, and more time to enjoy the comfort of home. F
Healthcare Matters When You're Settling for Good

A permanent relocation requires more than finding a beautiful neighborhood. Healthcare access should be part of the decision from the beginning, especially when you're planning for retirement and the years ahead.

Pennsylvania has major healthcare systems and medical centers throughout the state, particularly around its larger cities and regional communities. That gives retirees the opportunity to balance access to healthcare with the quieter lifestyle, housing,
Finally Make Time for Yourself

Your career may have required you to put your own plans on hold. Retirement gives you the chance to change that.

Maybe you want to spend more time with your spouse, children, or grandchildren. Maybe you want to travel, restore a vehicle, spend more time outdoors, golf on a weekday, work around the house, or simply enjoy a morning without a shift waiting for you.

Your next chapter should give you the freedom to make those things part of everyday life.

Charlie Younkin

For more than 30 years, I have been actively involved in investing in, renovating, and facilitating the purchase of residential and commercial real estate throughout Michigan and Florida. In addition to my real estate work, I manage From the Badge to the Beach, a referral-based relocation program designed to help individuals identify and transition into ideal retirement and lifestyle destinations.

Before entering real estate full time, I served for 28 years as a police officer. That experience instilled in me the importance of integrity, accountability, and trust, principles that continue to guide how I work with clients today. Since retiring in 2022, I have focused exclusively on helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate process with clarity and confidence.

With hands-on experience in both Michigan and Florida markets, I provide clients with valuable insight into regional trends, investment opportunities, and strategic property selection. My approach combines market knowledge with innovative search strategies and creative solutions to ensure each client is presented with options that align with their goals.

I live in Livingston County and raised my family in Wayne and Macomb counties, giving me a strong connection to the communities I serve. Beyond real estate, I am deeply committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of first responders, frontline workers, and military personnel through my foundation, Lines of Heroes, which provides resources and support to those who serve our communities and our country.
