Why So Many First Responders Are Choosing New Hampshire

Four Seasons, Four Ways to Enjoy Retirement

New Hampshire's changing seasons create a lifestyle with something different throughout the year. Spring and summer bring hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, gardening, and time around the state's lakes and outdoor spaces.

Fall brings some of New England's most recognizable foliage, while winter opens the door to skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and quieter days at home.
Stay Connected After Your Career

For veterans and retired first responders, retirement can mean leaving behind the camaraderie that came with serving alongside a team. Finding a community where you can continue building relationships can make the transition much easier.

Make Time for the Things You Put Off

Years of service often mean putting personal plans on hold. Retirement gives you the opportunity to change that.

Maybe you want to spend more time with your spouse, children, or grandchildren. Maybe you've always wanted to hike the mountains, explore New England, fish, golf, travel, work around the house, or simply enjoy a slow morning with nowhere you need to be.

Your next chapter should make room for those things. New Hampshire can give you the setting to make them
A Place to Settle, Stay, and Call Home

For veterans, retirees, retired first responders, frontline professionals, and healthcare workers, New Hampshire offers natural beauty, outdoor recreation, strong communities, and access to important services.

The goal isn't simply to find somewhere beautiful to visit. It's to find somewhere you can genuinely imagine staying, building relationships, enjoying your surroundings, and putting down roots for the long term.

Charlie Younkin

For more than 30 years, I have been actively involved in investing in, renovating, and facilitating the purchase of residential and commercial real estate throughout Michigan and Florida. In addition to my real estate work, I manage From the Badge to the Beach, a referral-based relocation program designed to help individuals identify and transition into ideal retirement and lifestyle destinations.

Before entering real estate full time, I served for 28 years as a police officer. That experience instilled in me the importance of integrity, accountability, and trust, principles that continue to guide how I work with clients today. Since retiring in 2022, I have focused exclusively on helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate process with clarity and confidence.

With hands-on experience in both Michigan and Florida markets, I provide clients with valuable insight into regional trends, investment opportunities, and strategic property selection. My approach combines market knowledge with innovative search strategies and creative solutions to ensure each client is presented with options that align with their goals.

I live in Livingston County and raised my family in Wayne and Macomb counties, giving me a strong connection to the communities I serve. Beyond real estate, I am deeply committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of first responders, frontline workers, and military personnel through my foundation, Lines of Heroes, which provides resources and support to those who serve our communities and our country.
