Why So Many First Responders Are Choosing Indiana

A State That Understands Service

Indiana is home to veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, healthcare professionals, and countless other people who have dedicated their careers to serving others.

For first responders and frontline professionals entering a new chapter, finding a community where hard work, service, and helping others are valued can make a difference.

Indiana offers plenty of opportunities to build new connections while staying close to those values.
Four Seasons, Plenty to Do

Indiana gives you a little bit of everything throughout the year.

Spring brings warmer weather and new outdoor adventures. Summer is perfect for boating, fishing, camping, festivals, and evenings outside. Fall brings beautiful colors and comfortable days for exploring, while winter creates opportunities for snow activities, local events, and cozy time at home.

There's always a reason to get outside and enjoy the season.
More Space to Enjoy Your Time

Life doesn't always have to happen at full speed. Outside Indiana's larger cities, you'll find farmland, open countryside, wooded areas, lakes, rivers, and quiet communities where you can enjoy a little more breathing room.

That extra space can mean a bigger yard, room for hobbies, a quieter morning, or simply fewer distractions from the people and activities that matter most.
A State Where Community Still Matters

Indiana is known for its friendly, down-to-earth communities.

From established neighborhoods to small towns where local businesses and community events are part of everyday life, there are plenty of places where people take pride in where they live.

For someone coming from a career built around helping others, that sense of community can feel familiar in all the right ways.

Charlie Younkin

For more than 30 years, I have been actively involved in investing in, renovating, and facilitating the purchase of residential and commercial real estate throughout Michigan and Florida. In addition to my real estate work, I manage From the Badge to the Beach, a referral-based relocation program designed to help individuals identify and transition into ideal retirement and lifestyle destinations.

Before entering real estate full time, I served for 28 years as a police officer. That experience instilled in me the importance of integrity, accountability, and trust, principles that continue to guide how I work with clients today. Since retiring in 2022, I have focused exclusively on helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate process with clarity and confidence.

With hands-on experience in both Michigan and Florida markets, I provide clients with valuable insight into regional trends, investment opportunities, and strategic property selection. My approach combines market knowledge with innovative search strategies and creative solutions to ensure each client is presented with options that align with their goals.

I live in Livingston County and raised my family in Wayne and Macomb counties, giving me a strong connection to the communities I serve. Beyond real estate, I am deeply committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of first responders, frontline workers, and military personnel through my foundation, Lines of Heroes, which provides resources and support to those who serve our communities and our country.
